Description / Secure Bulk Product Deletion Module for the Magento 2 Admin Panel
MAGENTO 2 · CATALOG · DATA CLEANUP · QUEUE
Move bulk product deletion to a queue.
Kowal Delete Products Queue
Select outdated products in the admin panel and schedule their deletion in the background. Separate item selection from operation execution so cleaning up a large catalog does not require waiting within a single admin request.
Mass action · Delete by SKU · Process logs
HOW IT WORKS IN PRACTICE
01 · You select products
You filter and select items in the Magento catalog.
02 · You send them to the queue
The admin panel adds deletion jobs by SKU.
03 · The process handles the jobs
The running consumer deletes products and writes logs.

Bulk delete thousands of products — quickly and painlessly in the Magento 2 admin panel
Do you have thousands of outdated or incorrect products in your Magento 2 store? Does trying to delete them manually from the admin panel end with errors, system freezes, or... losing an entire day? This module was created specifically to solve that problem.
What can this Magento module do?
Deletes products in the background after the queue processing process is started; the administrator does not wait for the entire operation to complete within a single request.
Does not require writing any scripts or lines of code
Deletion is performed sequentially in the queue process, outside the admin panel request. It still uses server resources; the load depends on the configuration and catalog.
The topic of deleting related images mentioned earlier in the description requires separate confirmation: the verified consumer does not trigger gallery file cleanup.
Logs the entire process, giving you full control
Who is this Magento module for?
This module is ideal for:
Magento 2 store administrators who want to delete a large number of products
Users who frequently synchronize products with wholesalers and want to regularly clean outdated data
Companies looking for a stable and secure solution without hiring a developer
Without this module
Manual product deletion takes forever
Trying to delete products in bulk from the admin panel often ends with errors or Magento freezing
You have to write custom scripts, which requires technical knowledge and carries the risk of errors
With this module
You add products for deletion, e.g. by SKU
The module deletes them on its own, in the background, in stages
You save time, space, and frustration
The queue must be processed
The mass action adds jobs to the kowal.delete_product queue. Saving to the queue does not yet mean the product has been deleted. The deployment configuration must run the Magento consumer that processes jobs sequentially.
Catalog handling does not require writing your own deletion script. Preparing the queue process and verifying operation in a given environment remains part of the implementation.
Products, images, and the actual scope
The consumer deletes products through the Magento repository and attempts to remove their URL rewrites. It records errors and processing time in the logs.
The earlier description mentioned automatic deletion of related images. In the verified code, this call is inactive; the package does not provide grounds to promise cleanup of unused image files. This scope must be confirmed or implemented separately.
Staged deletion and result control
The queue moves the work outside the original admin panel request, but it still uses server resources. Adjust the startup method and processing limit to the size of the catalog.
The operation permanently deletes the selected products; it is not archiving. Before starting, check your selection and backup. After completion, review the logs and confirm the result in the catalog — a failed message may be marked as handled and may not retry automatically.
Installation via Composer
Package kowal/module-deleteproductsqueue, module Kowal_DeleteProductsQueue. After configuring access to the Kowal repository, install the package, enable the module, update Magento, and clear the cache. In production, include compilation and static content deployment according to your store process.
From configuration to results
1. You select products
You filter and select items in the Magento catalog.
2. You send them to the queue
The admin panel adds deletion jobs by SKU.
3. The process handles the jobs
The running consumer deletes products and writes logs.
Catalog cleanup after synchronization
After updating a wholesaler offer, you identify outdated products. The selected items go to the queue, which is handled by the running Magento process.
Before requesting deletion, you check the selection and backup. The queue performs the actual product deletion.
Streamline your catalog cleanup process
