Meet the module

The Export Selected Product Attributes to CSV module was created for Magento 2 store owners who need a flexible and easy-to-use tool for exporting product data. With this module, you can export selected product attributes to a CSV file, enabling quick analysis and editing of data in external tools such as Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel.

Module features

1. Multiselect for choosing attributes

  • The module settings include a multiselect field that displays the full list of product attributes.
  • The user selects attributes for the CSV, such as SKU, price, status, product name, or custom attributes. The stock quantity mentioned in the previous description requires separate confirmation of the export scope.

2. Export from the product list

  • Product data export takes place on the product list in the Catalog > Products section.
  • The user can select products for export using the checkboxes next to individual items.

3. Product filtering

  • The product list allows you to apply filters such as category, status, price, visibility, custom attributes, and more.
  • The user can select all products that match the configured filters.

4. Fast CSV export

  • After selecting products, choose the Export to CSV option from the Action action list.
  • The module automatically generates a CSV file containing the selected attributes for the selected products.

How to use the module step by step

1. Module configuration

  • Go to the module settings in the admin panel.
  • In the Multiselect field, choose the attributes to export, such as SKU and Price. Quantity, mentioned in the previous instructions, requires separate confirmation or adjustment.
  • Save the changes.

2. Select products on the list

  • Go to the Catalog > Products section in the admin panel.
  • Use filters to narrow the product list to the selected group.
  • Select the checkboxes next to the products you want to export. You can also select all products on the list using the Select All option.

3. Choose the export action

  • From the Action drop-down list above the product table, choose Export to CSV.
  • Click Submit to start the export process.

4. Download the CSV file

  • After the export is complete, the CSV file will be automatically downloaded to your computer.

Module use cases

The module enables:

  • Product data updates: After exporting the data, you can edit it in programs such as Excel or Google Sheets, and then import the modified data into Magento.
  • Product analysis: Export data such as prices, stock levels, or visibility for further analysis.
  • Fast editing of multiple products: With selective export, you can focus only on selected attributes, saving time.

Module advantages

  • Intuitive interface: Export is performed from the product list, making it convenient and fast.
  • Flexibility: Ability to choose any product attributes tailored to the user’s needs.
  • Scalability: An ideal tool for both small stores and large product catalogs.

With the module, exporting selected product attributes to CSV becomes simple and enjoyable, while Magento store owners can make full use of the potential of their product data.

Data scope and file format

The Kowal → exporttocsv → settings → Attributes configuration provides access to EAV product attributes. The module retrieves their descriptive values and, if they are missing, the raw value. It joins array values with the | character and adds the product_type column to the export.

Stock quantity and MSI data mentioned in the previous description are not standard EAV attributes; their availability requires confirmation or customization. The export does not include its own importer. Filters depend on the columns available in the product list being used.

Installation via Composer

Package: kowal/module-exportproductstocsv; module: Kowal_ExportProductsToCsv. After configuring access to the Kowal repository, install the package, enable the module, run the Magento update, and clear the cache. For production mode, include compilation and static content deployment according to the store’s process.

From configuration to result

1. Select attributes
In the configuration, select the columns needed for the export.

2. Select products
Use filters and selection on the Catalog → Products list.

3. Download the CSV
The Export to CSV action creates a file with the selected data.

Data for catalog review

Example: you want to compare prices and statuses for a selected group of products. You narrow the list with filters, select the items, and export the SKU, name, price, and status.

The edited spreadsheet can be used to prepare updates. You import changes using a separate Magento mechanism after matching the format.
