The WhatsApp button appears automatically on the product page (the product.info.social block) immediately after enabling the module and configuring the phone number. The number is automatically cleaned to digits only for the wa.me link.

WhatsApp enables contact through a messenger in Poland and Europe. Customers increasingly prefer contacting companies via chat rather than email or forms. Adding a WhatsApp button to the product page is a simple way to:

• reduce cart abandonment,
• close sales faster,
• improve the customer shopping experience.

Stores → Configuration → Kowal → WhatsApp – Contact lets you set the status, number, heading, description, WhatsApp label, and icon alternative texts. You can customize the number and texts for each Store View.

Enter the number in international format. The WhatsApp link keeps only digits, while the tel: link keeps digits and the plus sign. A custom theme should provide the product.info.social location.

The module opens wa.me and tel:; how the app or web version starts depends on the customer’s device. The WhatsApp number must be linked to a supported account.

These are contact buttons, with no automatic replies, no conversation history in Magento, and no WhatsApp Business API integration. The module does not automatically add product content to the message.

SVG icons are local package assets. The module does not require a JavaScript library, cron, or its own tables. The WhatsApp link opens a new tab with rel=nofollow; the phone link starts call handling.

After configuration, check button visibility, the number, and operation on a phone. The impact on conversion depends on team availability and response quality.

Package kowal/module-whatsapp, module Kowal_WhatsApp. After configuring access to the Kowal repository, install the package, enable the module, update Magento, and clear the cache. In production, include compilation and static content deployment according to the store process.

1. Set up the contact
Enable the module and enter the number with the country code.

2. Customize the message
Change the heading, description, and labels for a specific store.

3. The customer chooses a channel
They open WhatsApp or phone call handling.

The customer views a product and needs a brief consultation. In the contact section, they choose WhatsApp or the visible phone number.

The buttons start the selected channel handling on the customer’s device. The store team provides the response and further support.
