Kowal Hyva — template modifications

Manage content width, product grid, and product details layout from Magento configuration. The Kowal Hyva package organizes catalog and content presentation without creating a separate child theme for supported changes.

HOW IT WORKS IN PRACTICE

In Stores → Configuration → Kowal → Hyva Layout → Content Width, set separate maximum widths for the home page, category, product, and CMS pages. Empty values preserve the theme width; you can enter pixels or a percentage.

The optional Force width on all pages setting gives priority to the global width and also includes other store routes. The settings apply to the main content and supported header and breadcrumbs containers; the footer keeps its own width.

The Columns by list width table defines the number of columns from 1–12 based on the actual list width after side filters are taken into account. The smallest matching threshold wins; one row without a maximum can define the layout above the highest threshold.

An empty table preserves the theme behavior. The mechanism applies to the native category GRID mode, not LIST, search, or recommendations. Threshold rules require browser support for CSS container queries.

The Product Page configuration lets you choose 1, 2, or 3 details columns from a width of 1024 px; on smaller screens, one column remains. You can control the visibility of More Information labels and the maximum height of cards.

Long cards have independent Show More / Show Less controls. An empty height displays the full content. The change applies to the native details grid, not the gallery and purchase layout or independent full-width sections.

The product description preserves Magento attribute filtering and receives native Hyvä typography. Layout safeguards keep descriptions and tabs within section boundaries: long code blocks can scroll internally, while inline code and text wrap.

Explicit Page Builder styles remain in the content. Custom tabs are responsible for their own typography; missing line breaks must be corrected in the source description.

Catalog Display lets you add native tier price thresholds to product cards in categories, search, and sliders. Products without the appropriate thresholds keep the standard price appearance.

The Icons Add To option changes supported wishlist, compare, and Kowal inquiry actions into buttons with an icon and label. It preserves their operation; the inquiry module remains optional.

You can preserve HTML and richer short description content in LIST mode, and also hide price output with a zero final value in LIST and GRID. Hiding the price affects presentation and does not change purchasing ability or saved prices.

Set separate GRID and LIST thumbnail sizes in pixels. Smaller originals are not enlarged; existing margins in the source file remain. Empty values preserve the theme behavior.

The package respects disabling the PayPal shortcut on the Hyvä product page when the configuration explicitly prevents it from being displayed. Other PayPal components can operate according to their own settings.

The header logo field in Design Configuration supports a limited, validated static SVG profile. Optional diagnostics for reCAPTCHA rejections during registration are disabled by default; it does not replace validation or guarantee a fix for a configuration error.

The kowal/module-hyva package requires Hyvä. Settings use standard Magento inheritance Default → Website → Store View; rendering of supported changes preserves the Luma fallback.

Custom cards, headers, and fixed-width components may require adjustment. After an update, include setup:upgrade, compilation, and asset deployment in your store process, and refresh the cache. Check the result on mobile and desktop, as well as with actual catalog data.

Package kowal/module-hyva, module Kowal_Hyva. After configuring access to the Kowal repository, install the package, enable the module, update Magento, and clear the cache. In production, include compilation and static content deployment according to your store process.

Adjust the configuration for a website or Store View.

2. Set the layout and presentation
Choose widths, columns, descriptions, and catalog actions.

3. Check the active theme
Refresh the cache and review the result on actual store pages.

You set a wider category and a number of columns based on the space available for the list. In LIST mode, you keep the formatted short description, and for products with defined thresholds, you add tier prices. On the product page, you choose the details layout and card height.
